The Night Safari

The Singapore Night Safari, established in 1994, is a unique experience that allows visitors to explore a nocturnal wildlife park after sunset. Spanning 35 hectares, it is nestled within the Singapore Zoo and is renowned for its innovative open-concept design, which enables guests to observe animals in their naturalistic habitats without barriers.

As visitors embark on the park’s winding trails, they encounter over 900 animals representing more than 100 species, many of which are endangered. The diverse wildlife includes fascinating creatures such as the Asian elephant, Indian rhinoceros, and various species of big cats, all actively engaging in their nocturnal behaviours.

Guests can choose between walking the trails or taking a tram ride for a guided tour of the park. The tram journey provides informative commentary, offering insights into the unique adaptations of the animals that thrive in the dark. Throughout the park, specially designed lighting enhances visibility while ensuring minimal disturbance to the animals.

The night safari experience is enriched with diverse dining options and souvenir shops. Additionally, the park features various shows, such as the Creatures of the Night, which showcases the hunting and foraging behaviours of some of the resident animals.

Overall, the Singapore Night Safari presents an unforgettable way to connect with wildlife and learn about conservation efforts, making it a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and families alike.
